Dr Tania Hossack is a Urologist at the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), working at both Westmead and Blacktown. Sheis also a Visiting Medical Officer at Norwest Private Hospital.
After graduating from the University of Sydney with first class honours, Dr Hossack commenced her internship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. After initially commencing general surgical training, she developed an interest in urology and after two years, transitioned training schemes.
Dr Hossack completed a robotic fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, followed by a general urology fellowship at the Western Hospital in Melbourne. After gaining her fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Urology) she was asked to stay on as a Consultant Urologist at the Western Hospital. In 2013, Dr Hossack returned to Sydney to help expand the public services available to patients within the WSLHD.
Dr Hossack has published widely and acts as a reviewer for both surgical and urological journals. She has presented at both national and international urological meetings and is also a senior lecturer at the University of Western Sydney.
While she is a general urologist, managing all urological problems, Dr Hossack has developed a special interest in the treatment of stone disease, voiding dysfunction and uro-oncology.
Dr Hossack believes in empowering patients to be active in their own medical management by providing knowledge and information. She also encourages a holistic approach, not only for initial treatment, but also for the long term, aimed at achieving a healthier, happier patient.
